Uniosun closes down, sends students back Home

SIKIRU OBARAYESE, Osogbo

The management of the Osun State University has announced the closure of the University until further notice over the coronavirus pandemic.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Ademola Adesoji told Daily Champion that the closure was in line with the directives of the Federal Government, Osun State Government and the National Universities Commission to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, “students are expected to leave the University premises beginning from Monday, 23rd March 2020 and stay in their homes until a month from now.

“The decision of the University’s Senate held on the closure of the University as directed by the Government stated that all students of the University must leave the premises of the University to stay in their various homes to avoid the spread of the dangerous disease.”

However, Ademole advised hereby advised all parents and guardians of the students to ensure that their children stay at home and stay safe to avoid them contacting the pandemic disease.
