Saraki threatening to kill us – Group seeking Senate President’s recall

Assets declaration: Supreme Court rejects FG’s appeal against Saraki

Members of Kwara Must Change, the group spearheading the recall of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has alleged that its members have been receiving death threats.

The group made the allegation in a statement issued on Monday and signed by the group’s Coordinator for Kwara Central Senatorial District, Mr. Yusuf Olatunji.

Olatunji claimed that the threats had been mostly directed towards Kwara Must Change President, Mr. Abdulrazaq O Hamzat.
It added that it had decided to formally report the death threats by Mr. Saraki’s aides to all the country’s security agencies and international bodies, including the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), African Union, United Nations and foreign embassies in Nigeria.

“The recall process will not be aborted for this unfortunate reason. It shall proceed as planned on 1 August 2017 and we urge everyone in Kwara Central to join us in this historic recall.

“Aides of the Senate President, who are spearheading this evil plot know themselves, but we also know them and they will soon hear from us. They and their political thugs would wish they never threatened us, as we have gathered all their previous criminal activities,” the statement read.

On 11 July, Kwara Must Change announced its desire to commence the process of recalling Saraki.
