Rochas rice to flood Market in May as Okorocha parleys with Journalists

Nigeria,a failed State, SDC got billions to pay pensions

-Promises to hold LG Elections in September

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on monday ,disclosed that the Rochas brand of rice would flood the Nigerian Market in may 2017.

The governor stated this during a media briefing with Journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalist(NUJ) Press Centre,Owerri

According to the governor Okorocha, the rice is from his 250 hectare farm estate acquired years ago in Assah ,Ohaji Egbema local government Area and wants Imolites to take farming seriously to avert impending hunger.

The State helmsman insisted that the Policy of 3 days work in Imo State civil service is still on and called on Workers to use same towards developing another income base..

Also, the governor declares Nigeria, a failed state as according to him, a nation that cannot provide food, power to her citizens remain a failed state and challenged the leaders to rise up.

The governor bemoaned the State of the Local government council across the State as according to him, there exist numerous ghost workers collecting salaries while staying in far places like Lagos and Abuja. He alleged that the N270 Million granted to the Council heads for Agricultural development could not be tracked and promised to clean the System soonest, including a provision of another N540 Million for development projects.

On the Security concerns in the State, Gov. Okorocha, states that kidnapping is no longer an Igbo affair as persons caught recently were from Northern state of Adamawa. As part of re-organisation in Security system, the governor promised to deplore Close Circuit Cameras especially in Owerri city while a quick response team is to be trained and moblised.

The Imo Helmsman also states that no pensioner is being owed in Imo state as the State government deplored the Paris Debt Re-fund from the federal government to settle same.

The governor maintained that he doled out billions of Naira to the State Development Council (SDC) towards paying Pensioners across the 305 Electoral wards in the State after negotiations. Also, Gov. Okorocha said that those condemning the payment made to Pensioners are the Unionists who had expected to take 1% Check off .

Moreso,Gov. Okorocha promised to conduct the local government council election in the months of September and October, 2017 after numerous cancellations.

Meanwhile, the State governor has promised to relocate NUJ Press centre to a yet to be declared place in the state capital
