The Ondo State All Progressives Congress(APC) United Kingdom(UK) Chapter has urged the leadership of the party in  the state to reflect on the past from the days of the Alliance for Democracy (AD),  Action Congress(AC) Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the controversial 2016 Primaries.

This, according to the group, is to avoid a repeat of the fall-out that had turn the party fortune apart despite her success as the ruling party.
The APC stalwarts lamented that it has been difficult for stakeholders to sheath their sword, making it difficult for reconciliation efforts.
They spoke during their new year 2020 party with respectable guests including prominent traditional ruler from Ondo, members of UK Parliament,  APC UK Chapter Chairman, Dr O. Idaewor, APC UK Southwest Caucus Chairman, Hon Muyiwa Adesua, Southwest States Leaders, the party Excos and friends of Ondo State.
Its Deputy Chairman, Tunde Doherty, in a statement noted with regrets that the leaders in power did not look at the big picture of governance, but instead concerned themselves with unhealthy matters, hurting loyal members with negative impact on the social welfare of the people that had toiled to build the party and the people of Ondo State.
He said: “They used to engage in shows of muscles flexing, claiming superiority, show-offs and relevance, this behaviour becomes a do or die affairs and finally turned into winner takes all”
Doherty warned that if the leaders refuse to embrace reconciliation in the spirit of sportsmanship and get back to the drawing board, it may lead to disaster in the forthcoming election.
The APC leader however, offered to participate in any peace mission if invited as it is time to face the facts and move forward.
The party chairman, Chief Julius Adeyeye reiterated the support that the UK group had been rendering to the APC and its candidates dated back  to 2012 Governorship race under the platform of the defunct ACN.
This administrative support,he said continued administrative support continued until the party won the 2016 election, though without any appreciation from the party leader ship in Ondo state.
Adeyeye said: “We continue as progressives to relentlessly work in promoting our government. As part of a recognised chapter, we do believe the progress of any nation and her constituent states can accelerate her growth and development by engaging and integrating her skilful professional in the diaspora; this has not been the case in our states.
“Another election is fast approaching; there is unsettled rancour amongst the gladiators, we are using this medium to appeal to all our leaders to unite by reconciling their differences.
” The party platform is more significant than any individual and party decisions should be fair, reasonable and be respected.
” Let be truthful, as it stands today, APC strength is weakened in our state considering the results of the last election where we lost the presidential election, two senators and four members of the House of representatives, there are also lessons to learn from current tribunal rulings.
Other party leaders including Ayo Adigun, Prince Fola Olagbegi and Secretary, Hon Olu Esho challenged all the leaders and aspirants to a reconciliation debate in the UK aimed at utilising the infrastructural developmental process there as a precursor to change their mindset and set goals that will accelerate development.
They emphasised that Ondo state development is below expectation compare to ABU Dhabi with a population of 1.45 million at 44years.
