Nollywood stars head for honours at SSA – AWARD in Calabar

It will be another great moment of appraisal and gratitude at the South-South Achievers Awards in Calabar this weekend for those from Nigeria’s South-South region who have continued to distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours.

Popular among those built to attend the prestigious awards include popular Nollywood actor, Ini Edo among other entertainment colleagues who have confirmed to be heading to Calabar for the SSA-Award on Sunday March 24 this weekend.

The award ceremony aims at celebrating top achievers in business, entertainment, media, politics, arts, fashion industry. And will be the first time persons who have made reasonable contribution to society from Nigeria’s South South will be gathered for recognition at a huge regional scale.

According to a statement by Tell Africa Media, the organization responsible for publicizing the event all is now set for the prestigious event to hold in Calabar March 24 at the Transcorp Hotel.

Apart from Ini Edo and Duncan Mighty, other notable figures in the entertainment and business fora expected to be honoured at the event include big time Abuja International film festival convener, Fidelis Duker, former Nigeria’s president of Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Zik Zulu Okafor; business mongul and music promoter, Ubi Franklin.

Others also recognized from the South South region who have left indelible mark in their fields of endeavors include international journalist currently with the BBC World News, Ashionye Ogene; business man and citizens journalist, Agba Jalingo; among others.

Kate Henshaw, Belinda Effah, Eve Esin, Nseikpe Etim, Timaya, Mc Galaxy are nominated for various prestigious award categories as well. But the event organizers are yet to release a statement of their confirmation.

While Face of Independence Nigeria International Queen, Peace Eteng will be among the top models and pageant title holders to Grace the event in grand style.
