Member representing Orhiomwon South constituency, Edo State House of Assembly, Nosayaba Okunbor has called on the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki to concentrate effort at strengthening existing institutions by ensuring proper financial footing of the eighteen local government in the the State.
Okunbor, who commended former Governor, Adams Oshiomhole and his successor, Godwin Obaseki for laying the infrastructural and developmental foundations in the state in the past nine years, said unless the councils are financially footed, fundamental issues and problem will continue to linger
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker who spoke with newsmen while given account of his mid-term stewardship, said the House has no reason to be confrontational since the Governor Obaseki led executive is currently doing well
He said haven attracted constituency projects to his people, in addition innumerable motions and bills move towards enhancement of good governance in the State in the period under review, the people are now left with the option to decide on his second term as a legislator
Okunbor however enumerated the construction of borehole at Iyoba ward, distribution of 30,0000 copies of 80 leaves to all primary schools in the area, construction of three blocks of classrooms (on-going) in Idumodi, Igbanke, Iduogo and Igwodala primary schools as some of his constituency projects
