Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has put in place a high-powered committee of elders with a mandate to explore strategies to reposition the party towards winning elections.
Chief Dan Orbih, the state party chairman who inaugurated the 13-man committee at the state party Secretariat in Benin City said its mandate is come up with ideas to restructure the party, identify lapses and make recommendations.
The committee is headed by Dr Tony Aziegbemi, former House of representative members, Esan Southeast/northeast constituency while a former member of the Edo State Assembly, Etsako Central, Barrister Paschal Ugbome will serve as its secretary.
Among others, the committee is expected to receive memorandum from all party faithful, conduct public hearing to get first hand information from members.
The committee will also carry out a holistic forensic analysis of results of party faithful in their respective polling units during the September 2016 gubernatorial election and has until Thursday 31st August 2017 to submit a report.
