The proprietor and director of Laazeere Academy, Saminaka, Jalingo, Taraba State, Mr. Samuel Lauya, has expressed his determination to uplift the group of schools to a greater level comparable to other schools in the state and beyond.
He stated this during the school seventh annual speech and prize giving day in Jalingo.
He said in pursuit of this objective, he has mapped out long term plan on how to transform the academy from its present state to that of a pace-setter which will be acceptable to all.
He disclosed that his priority at the moment was the attainment of a high academic standard wherein pupils and students would be subjected to intensive and systematic impartation of knowledge that would make them relevant in their generation and yet unborn.
He assured parents that their children are in safe hands as far as the academy is concerned; adding that he looked forward to a new academic year, and higher academic performances.
The Proprietor, commended pupils and students who were outstanding in various subjects at their respective levels and urged them to maintain the tempo.
He encouraged those that were not able to win any prize this year to strive harder in next academic year; adding that a little more hard work would make the difference.
He enumerated achievements recorded by the academy which included construction and equipping of a science laboratory, classroom blocks for senior classes, examination hall, employment of qualified science teachers, purchase of projector for easy learning and more computers.
The proprietor further disclosed that the academy had formally registered with WAEC, NECO and NABTEB for both internal and external examination centre.
He used the forum to appreciate parents for their commitment and understanding towards ensuring that the academy move forward. He also appreciates staff for their selfless service to the institution.
In his remarks, the Parent and Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Mr. Daniel Boyi urged the young learners to concentrate on their studies rather than playing.
He called on parents to pay school fees of their wards as at when due. He also commends the school management for fulfillment the designed plan and staff for their hard work. He appreciated the management for introducing extracurricular activities such as debate and press club adding that it will go a long way in imparting more knowledge on pupils and students.
He call on the management to organize execution for students especially on information Technology, adding that it will boost their knowledge. The occasion featured traditional dances by the pupils and students Mummuye, Jenjo, Margi and Drama. The Proprietor also use the forum to inspect some projects which include computer room, examination hall and the library.
