Tambuwal: Sokoto paid N168m interest on loan to BoI

FRIDAY OBOH, Sokoto

Sokoto State Government has paid 168 million Naira interest for the beneficiaries of the two billion Naira Bank of Industry (BoI) loan.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal disclosed this at Illela when he began the disbursement of the Loan to the low Level and high Level business men.

The governor, who was on his campaign train to the town, said N500 million would be given to Low level business men through the state investment company while N1.5 billion would be given to large scale business men.

He explained that indigene and non-indigene business community would benefit.

Governor Tambuwal appealed to the business community to sympathise with fellow brothers and sisters by offering their wares for sale at affordable rate.

He commended illela Local Government communities for their support to the state Government.

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon.Bashir Gidado, commended the state government for redeeming its pledge of granting the loan to business community.

The commissioner, therefore, appealed to the Loan beneficiaries to endeavour to repay it to enable others benefit.
