The controversial Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) has been transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari by the National Assembly.It was learnt on Tuesday that the Bill was sent to the President on July 3, 2018. A source close to the office of the President of the Senate, disclosed this.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon.Yakubu Dogara, has stated that the new Petroleum Industry Bill that is before the National Assembly will be passed to enable Nigeria operate at standards and levels of efficiency expected of a twenty first century oil and gas industry. He also added that as it currently stands, even the government recognises that the industry can no longer meet its aspirations and those of key stakeholders.
