The Campaign Organization of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has commended the people of the state for voting for the party in last Saturday’s election.
The party also lauded the people for their orderly conduct during and after the election, stressing that despite all threats and provocations they came out en masse to vote for the PDP.





The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Otuasega community in Ogbia local government Area of Bayelsa State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of hiring armed youths suspected to be thugs to disrupt the polls.

Otuasega is a neighboring community to Otuoke the home of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday urged Nigerian voters to repeat what they did at the Presidential and National Assembly elections, which produced the President-elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the election  during the April 11 governorship and state assembly elections .


With the celebration of victory for All Progressive Congress, APC over winning the March 28 Presidential election still in the air, the former governor of Anambra State and the senator representing Anambra Central, Dr. Chris Ngige over the weekend pointed out that playing opposition has not been an easy ride because of the domineering attitude by those in government.

The senatorial candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra South in last weekend’s presidential and National Assembly elections in Anambra State, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe Thursday insisted that he won the election for the zone convincingly, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, not to issue certificate of return to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Nigerian voters have been urged to vote for visionary leaders in this year’s general elections across the country.
Speaking recently in London, Nigerians and Africans in the UK said this year’s elections offered Nigerians greatest opportunity to ensure that responsive and responsible leadership in the presidency, governorship, National and state assemblies are elected to manage the resources of a great African country.

Vice President Namadi Sambo won his polling unit for the first time in all tiers of elections held in Kaduna state since 2011.

Sambo secured 105 votes over Gen. Mohammed Buhari (rtd), Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and his Deputy, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo who secured 20 votes at the Kabala Doki 011 polling unit, Kabala Ward, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

INEC Presiding Officer for the ward, Mr. Olorunfemi Raphael announced the result around 6pm at the polling unit. It was a surprise development, as Kabala Doki ward is regarded as an APC stronghold.

In the April 2011 Presidential election elections followed Kaduna state Local Government Election in December, 2012 Sambo lost woefully at his Gambaraou Polling unit, Kabala Doki ward.

This time, he change his polling unit.

The Streets of Kaduna and other towns in the state are back to business as counting of result goes on.

So far, there has been no breach of the peace in any part of the state.

But, our Correspondent was informed that a ballot box filled with ballot papers was snatched by some youths at Maitozo Pulling unit, Maitozo ward, Sanga LGA, of Kaduna State.

At the time of sending this report, police were looking for them.
