Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara yesterday nip in the bud a brewing controversy bothering on constitutional breach by President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged non-inclusion of Abuja indigenes in the list of Nigerians nominated for ministerial appointment.


  It seems the fuel scarcity being witnessed by Nigerians may linger following the non- payment of oil marketers by the Federal Government.

The oil marketers under the aegis of Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA) are demanding for the payment of huge sums of monies owed by the federal government in order for its members to remain in business.


President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday warned some Nigerians who he alleged had been harassing Federal Government officials serving in his administration in the aftermath of the March 28 presidential election won by the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential candidate, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).
Jonathan’s warning was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, in Abuja yesterday.

Assurances by Senate President, David Mark, on the resolve of the nation’s parliament to work towards the passing of the lingering Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is a very welcome development, coming against the background of spirited opposition by interest groups who have contrived to block the passage of a well thought-out policy that is meant to boost the revenue base of the country and better the lot of Nigerians.
