Access Bank declares N95bn profit for 2018

••• Declares 25k dividend for shareholders

Access Bank says it recorded gross earnings of N174bn within the first half of 2016.
This represents an increase of three per cent over the N168.3bn it generated during the same period in 2015, while proposing an interim dividend of 25Kobo per share.
According to the bank’s audited financial results released recently on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, its gross earnings were driven largely by steady income growth from the bank’s core business, as interest income grew by 14per cent to N112.3billion in the first half of 2016 from N98.9billion in the comparative period of 2015.

Despite the inclement operating business environment, which dulled industry average performance, Diamond Bank Plc, weekend said it recorded a Profit before Tax (PBT) of N6.7 billion within the first quarter of 2016, averaging monthly PBT of N2.3 billion.
In its unaudited financial statement for business activities ended March 31, 2016, the bank said it demonstrated its ability to sustain growth in the top lines.

A  Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki has vacated an interim order issued by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos in January  restraining the Securities and Exchange Commission, (SEC) and the Nigerian Stock Exchange,( NSE) from releasing fifteen billion naira bond approved for Ebonyi State government.
