President Buhari makes new appointments

SUNDAY ODE, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into Act, a bill passed by the National Assembly to promote medical tourism in the country.Titled “Medical Residency Training Act 2018,” the Act is to ensure quality and competence of medical practice and practitioners with a view to encouraging medical tourism from other countries to Nigeria.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has insisted it would retain its planned 45 per cent increase in electricity tariff as it said it would file an appeal against the court ruling that mandated it to reverse the 45 per cent increase in electricity tariff across the country. This was made available to newsmen at a press briefing issued Friday, at its headquarters in Abuja.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) said it has set up an investigative task force to keenly look into claims by the 11 electricity distribution companies (Discos) in Nigeria’s power sector that they have installed sizeable amount of electricity meters to their customers since they took over operations in November 2013.
