Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) is set to begin a three-day nationwide warning strike on Wednesday, over disputes with International Oil Companies, IOCs, especially indiscriminate sack of workers without benefits and refusal to allow their workers to join union.

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has come under attack for refusing to obey the recommendations of the Ministerial Fact-Finding Committee on the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri that was constituted by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, on the crisis rocking the medical centre.
The Federal Government has said that it would partner the United States on fair labour practices to boost international trade relations in the Nigeria.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, stated this when he received the Political Officer in the U.S. Embassy, Mr Marlin Hardinger, in Abuja.
