Ohanaeze exposes South-East plan on restructuring

PHIL OKOSE, Onitsha

Irked by the order from Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, that Igbo should sit-at-home on 30th May 2018, in commemoration of Biafran heroes who died during the three years Biafra/Nigeria civil war, the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB,otherwise called Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, has urged Igbos toignore the order.

IPOB warns police commissioners in Igboland against interference with sit-at-home

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Tuesday alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari was travelling to London to strategize with Queen Elizabeth of Enland’s “Royal house cabals” on how to “frustrate the emergence of Biafra.

MASSOB made the allegeation while dismissing claims by the presidency that Buhari was travelling to London for a medical check-up. Leader of the pro-Biafra group, Uchenna Madu insisted that Buhari’s sudden travel to London for medical a check up was to deceive the people that ”found themselves in an enslavement called Nigeria.”

The statement reads, “Buhari did not go for medical treatment but went to London to liase and strategize with the British Queen Elizabeth, Prime Minister and the Royal house cabals for another easier, effective and diplomatic means to frustrate the emergence of Biafra.

“Britain is more jittery and uncomfortable since the meeting of President Buhari and Trump of USA. The meeting which exposed the false foundation of Nigeria against the British deceit shocked the the government of United Kingdom and their collaborators.

“MASSOB call on the people of Biafra to be more vigilance, our people must know today that the arch enemy of Biafra is not Hausa Fulani but the British government. They deceived the world against Biafra during Nigeria. Biafra, today, they are trying to frustrate the independence of Biafra from Nigeria which they will never succeed. The deceit, hypocrisy and lies of Queen Elizabeth led Britain have been exposed.

“MASSOB insist that with the current consciousness and desire for Biafra actualization and restoration, no amount of President Buhari meeting, lobbying and manoeuvring with the British and their Islamic allies will ever stop the emergence of Biafra because God, History and Humanity are on our side, Biafra Revolution is indestructible.

“Biafra as an entity is not in war with Hausa Fulani but the British government. Nigeria is an establishment of the British for their economic & political gains. Hausa Fulani can not match the strategic energy and vitality of the people of Biafra in military warfare, during Nigeria Biafra war, they could not face Biafrans but deceived and uses the people of Middle Beltans with the back up the British in alliance with Islamic nations to fight against Biafra in a war that change the history of the world, a genocidal war that was declared “No Victor No Vanquished.”

Biafra: Nigeria will not exist beyond 2019 – MASSOB tells Buhari

The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has declared that Nigeria will not last beyond 2019 as a unified entity. The group in a statement on Monday advised President Muhammadu Buhari and others nursing presidential ambition in 2019 to save their resources for something else as Nigeria would disintegrate before then.

Biafra: MASSOB passes vote of no confidence on Ohanaeze Ndigbo

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, yesterday said it had passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The group anchored its reason on Ohanaeze’s alleged unserious attitude towards the affairs of Ndigbo and Biafrans in general.

MASSOB in a statement by its national Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel said ‎they recently discovered that the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo whom they thought felt the pains of Ndigbo and Biafrans were pursuing personal and egocentric desires.

“While, we disagree with the call for restructuring by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, MASSOB wishes to commend the South-east, South-south governors for coming together for their meeting held last Saturday in Enugu, even though the meeting to us was a total failure. The governors have indeed, this time taken a bold step for coming together which is important for the two regions.

“The unity of these two regions is very important for us. We urge these governors to reactivate the dilapidated infrastructures and abandoned companies in the two regions, instead of relying and waiting in vain on the Federal Government of Nigeria to site any Federal Government project in these two regions, which it will not do because the of the hatred for the people of these regions who are mostly Biafrans.

“We, the members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, under the leadership of Mazi Uchenna Madu have passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo because of their lack-lustre attitude towards the affairs of Ndigbo and Biafra in general.

“These men, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership whom we thought feel our pains before now, have shown us who they are and we have discovered that they are pursuing personal and egocentric desires. We never knew before now that they are not working for Ndigbo and Biafrans in general.

“They want to destroy our future and in the process, have destroyed their own future because of their immediate need to enrich themselves. They have exposed themselves and we now know them better.”

According to MASSOB, “the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has proven that they cannot be trusted. Their opposition against referendum has shown that they do not have Igbo interest at heart.

“While many respected Igbo leaders and leaders from other parts of the country are clamouring for referendum, it is very clear that the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has nothing to offer Ndigbo but using the organization to get contracts from Abuja.

“MASSOB is warning Ohanaeze Ndigbo to retrace their steps towards Biafran issue because we will not allow them to jeopardize our future and that of our children. A lot of blood has been shed because of Biafra and we cannot let that blood be in vain.

“MASSOB will never accept restructuring because there is no amount of restructuring that will save Nigeria from disintegration.

”The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has failed Ndigbo completely. We are going to make Biafran land too hot for the shameless, greedy, self centered politicians who cannot see the handwriting on the wall.”

Stop beating drums of war – Bode George warns Arewa youths, IPOB, MASSOB

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George has admonished those agitating for the breakup of Nigeria to desist from beating the drums of war.

In a statement titled ‘Enough of the drum beats of war’, the PDP Chieftain warned various agitating groups to desist from making disruptive and inflammatory comments capable of heating up the polity.

George said: “There is a certain disturbing divisive temper across our nation today. Everywhere, there is an unfortunate passion of ethnic fixity. From the North to the South, there is that befuddled and reckless upsurge of ill conceived provocations towards the abyss.

“From every nook and cranny some people are hurrying and stampeding everyone else to a disruptive agitational campaign.

“From the Biafran young crusaders to the young Arewa reactive promoters of disunion and the Yoruba presumptive withdrawal into a fanciful Oduduwa republic, they are all wrong. We are all living in unpleasant economic season.

“We must all step away from the abyss. We must all sheathe our swords. Enough of this unrealistic war clamour. Enough of these provocations of national destabilization.”

On the peace move by the Federal Government, George said, “the current consultations that our government has embarked upon across the tribal divide is laudable and exemplary. But they should do more. They should widen the consultation efforts by inviting the formidable elders and statesmen who were active participants and managers of our Nation during the dark drama of our civil war.

“The chastening voices of General Yakubu Gowon, General Obasanjo, General T.Y. Danjuma, General Alani Akinrinade, General Alabi Isama, General IMB Haruna, General Babangida, General Abdulsalam, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Gov. Udenwa, Col. Iheanacho Rtd, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu and many others on both sides of the divide at that time, will go a long way in tempering the flight of fancy of the intemperate agitators who have never heard a gunshot in anger.”

George also warned those attempting to lead Nigeria on the path of another civil war, stressing “We must talk to each other. We must listen to each other. We must encourage an appreciation of each other’s unique asset. There is no strength in disunity. There is no value in the rupturing of our national fabric.

“The last civil war which provoked millions of deaths and incalculable destruction both in physical and in the moral psyche of the survivors must never be repeated again. The American Philosopher, George Santayana told us that

“Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it” We must never repeat the darkness of our past. We must move forward with truth and certainty.

“There is no single nation in the history of the world that has survived two civil wars. We must stop and reflect. We must halt all these desperate agitations for mushroom ethnic colonies. The balkanization of our nation will not bode well for anyone. The former Yugoslavia and the defunct USSR are classic examples of ill-conceived peripheral pigmy states that can hardly survive on their own. Is this really what we want?”
