SERAP drags INEC to court

.Over failure to prosecute Ekiti vote buyers


Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to court over the commission’s “failure to put Ekiti vote buyers on trial and do something about the allegations of vote buying by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during recent governorship election in Ekiti State.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Borno State, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Magaji, has said the commission has so far registered 674,514, votes in Borno with 560,503 voters from April, 2017 to July 2018 and 114,012 votes from 1st August 2018 to 29 August 2018., as well as 183 unclaimed PVCs.
