2019: Igbo group condemns vote buying, wants Ngige back to senate

THE current grinding poverty across the nooks and crannies of Nigeria that has engendered many negative consequences including all manner of vices and social dislocation for the citizens should be a source of serious concern to all tiers of government and a wake-up call for all concerned. This is totally unacceptable and we demand that no stone should be left unturned in addressing its root causes with a view to achieving better living standard for the vast majority of the people.

The National body of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers Union of Nigeria (PENGASSAN)

has incidentally shut down Baker Hughes , an oil and Gas oil servicing company at Trans-Amadi in Port Harcourt, for rejecting a Collective Bargaining Agreement, CBA signed at the instance of the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige on July 17, 2016.

ADEKUNLE ADESUJI, ABUJA

 Senate on Wednesday recommended capital punishment for anyone found guilty of kidnapping in the country.

Senate resolution was sequel to  the report of Senate Committee on Police chaired by Senator Abu Ibrahim who also recommended adequate funding of security agencies in order to combat kidnapping appropriately.
