The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday relocated a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, to Lagos for further interrogation on the N2.5billion illegally withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and paid into the accounts of six chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Goodluck Support Group (GSG).

Ahead of the International Anticorruption Summit in the UK this week, a civil society group Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the UK authorities to “extradite Nigeria’s former petroleum minister Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke to face charges of corruption and money laundering, as the charges she is currently facing in UK court do not sufficiently capture the gravity of her alleged crimes, and the increasing allegations of corruption against her in Nigeria.”

Central Bank of Nigeria said that it is investigating activities of some banks in the country with respect to certain financial transactions.

The CBN had in a statement issued by Ag Director of Corporate Communications Mr. Isaac Okorafor revealed that it is conducting the investigation in partnership with relevant agencies of government.
