Northern Senators Forum on Wednesday warned community leaders in the country to stop making reckless statement that can incite other tribes against another due to Fulani herdsmen/farmers clashes
Briefing journalists, Chairman of the Forum, Senator Adamu Abdulahi lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration on the steps taken so far to contain the problems of Herdsmen/ farmers clashes.
He said the forum resolved in their meeting to continue its complete support for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to bring about even development to all sections of the country.
The communique reads,” The forum resolved to continue its complete support for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to bring about even development to all sections of the country.
” That members of the Forum shall work assiduously to enact laws and amend existing ones when and where necessary in order to promote the interest of northern Nigeria and Nigeria in general
” That we note and appreciate the steps that the Federal government has taken so far to contain the problems of herdsmen/farmers clashes and call on community leaders to be careful when making statement on these ugly incidence.”
Daily Champion recalls that Nigerians had criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for his “constant silence” on the brazen attacks by suspected herdsmen, the latest being the murder of dozens at Ukpabi Nimbo Community in Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu state.
