Soldiers raid communities, nab 4 cultists in Imo

Soldiers from 82 Division of the Nigerian Army participating in the ongoing Operation Python Dance in the South-eastern part of the country have arrested four suspected notorious cultists in Umukpo and Omoglogo in Ohoba community of the oil rich Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State.

In a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information and Spokesman of the 82 Division, Colonel Musa Sagir said that 3 locally made single barrel guns, 1 AK 47 Rifle loaded with 15 rounds of 7.62MM Special ammunition were recovered during one of the raids carried out by troops of Sector 2, Sub Sector 4 of 342 Artillery Regiment.

Also arrested was a crude Oil thief adding that troops of Sector 2, (34 Brigade Owerri), averted bloody intra cultists clash and arrested one Mr. Onyewokechi Chiwuanya aka Randy in Abacheke locality of Egbema community for cultism and burglary of an electronics store, while one Mrs. Uchechi Agu and Esoro Chibuzor aka Oyibo were equally arrested over cult related activities. Sagir said that the suspects have been handed over to Egbema Police Station for further action.

In a related development, troops of Sector 3 (82 Division Garrison location) have allegedly arrested a drug peddler identified as Mr. David Ubi.Ubi was arrested with 100kg of Indian hemp and some drugs suspected to be tramadol. The suspect who hails from Yakurr LGA of Cross River State has since been handed over to police for further action.
