Shehu Sani, the Senator representing kaduna Central has cried out over renewed attacks by Boko Haram insurgents. The Borno State deputy governor, Usman Mamman Durkwa had on Saturday confirmed that there was a Boko Haram attack on a Military Base located in Gudumbali, the Headquarters of Guzamala Local Government Area of the state.
Although Durkwa insisted that he was yet to get the actual number of casualties from security forces, after he had conversation with the Police Commissioner, Mr. Damian Chukwu and the Brigade Commander of Military Forces in Monguno, sources said several soldiers fled the area due to the fire power of the insurgents.
The deputy governor said the armed Boko Haram extremists succeeded and took control of the whole area, as some soldiers fled from their base to Maiduguri on Saturday afternoon.Speaking on the renewed attacks, the APC Chieftain in a post on Twitter called on security agencies to double its efforts.
Sani described the resurgence of insurgency as tragic. He wrote: “The resurgence of the insurgents is troubling and tragic. Our gallant security forces must double up efforts to contain and combat them.“Terror can never win but can rise up the cost of victory. We must be consistently vigilant and perish the thought of instant victory.”
