Early morning downpour in Lagos Thursday, has wreaked havoc on some buildings in the University of Lagos.
Champion Scholar checks reveal that the dawn downpour was accompanied with severe rainstorm which uprooted trees at Mbonu Close area of the university community which had been in festive mood of its 49th convocation activities since the week began.
The heavy rain, we gathered, was accompanied with severe rainstorm which caused the havoc. Moremi and Fagunwa Halls as well as the Department of Radiography of the institution were most affected.Attempts to reach the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe on his mobile line for comment on the development were abortive.
However, in a short chat with Daily Champion, the university’s spokesperson, Mrs. Taiwo Oloyede, said though the development was an unfortunate one, especially at this particular time but it has not, in any way, affected the lined up programme of events concerning the ongoing convocation activities.
