The Polytechnic students in the country have demanded for the equal sharing of the N20,000 Covid-19 Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme by the Federal Government.

The students, under the auspices of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), made the demand through their President, Comrade Olalere Benedict  Adetunji, during a press briefing on Thursday on Covid-19 pandemic.

It would be recalled that the Covid-19 Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme of N20,000 commenced on Wednesday, April  1, 2020 where the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Mrs. Hajiya Sadiya Farouk, distributed the sum to 5,000 Nigerians in Kwali area of Abuja.

The NAPS President demanded that the money should go across the six geo-political zones of the country and the Polytechnic students should be included.

He said this became necessary since the war against the deadly Coronavirus was a collective effort with every body bracing up in compliance with the rules laid-down to combat the pandemic.

NAPS  President commended both the Federal and state governments, captains of industry, Pastors and health workers for their determination, seriousness and creativity to stop the spread of Covid-19 across the country.

He reiterated that if the government and the private sector have always been active in this manner, "the country would have the face of her Next Level".

He, however, warned impersonators to stay clear of NAPS, adding that "whosoever is found guilty of such act will be properly handed over to the law enforcement agencies and be prosecuted".

Comrade Adetunji assured the Polytechnic students that the victory of Covid-19 was certain "If we all follow and obey the laid-down rules against the deadly virus".
