Police crack down on robbery suspects in Lagos

The Lagos Police Command said, it has arrested several suspected armed robbers in different locations across Lagos  during May 29th, governorship inauguration in the state.
According to Police  statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer ASP. Ken Nwosu, the Police patrol team attached to Orile Division while on patrol along Lagos/Badagry express way by Orile bus stop, intercepted a motor cyclist and a pillion where one Chinedu Okeke with a bag containing Ak-47 rifle no 57012, three magazines and twenty five live ammunition was arrested


The statement revealed that efforts are on to arrest the fleeing motorcyclist. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation
The Police on the same day  along Bale Animashaun road Alakuko,   attached to Alakuko Division recovered a locally made pistol with one live cartridge, one white lady’s hand bag containing a wrist watch, a Techno handset phone charger and a Bajaj motorcycle  Reg. No. DGB- 086-UR abandoned by two armed robbers who took to their heels on sighting the Police team.
The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba Lagos.
Also, Policemen attached to Ikeja Division while acting on information  according to the statement, arrested one Abiodun Azeez Segun Ogundeji and Eze Igbo in their operational vehicle, one Mazda 323 reg No FKJ-21-DA along Opebi Road Ikeja.
Two locally made double barrel pistols were recovered from the suspects. The case is also under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation Yaba.
Meanwhile, the Police anti-robbery team attached to Ogombo Police Division also  arrested some suspected armed robbers at Okun-Aja namely  Ibrahim Hassan  aka Ak 47, the gang leader Hammed Suleiman, Yusuf Akinsanya, Jide Araba, Segun Shola, and Gbenga .O. and  recovered items such as charms, and two Honda motorcycles from the hoodlums as the the case is still under investigation at Ogombo division.
It would be recalled that the Lagos state Commissioner of Police had recently reiterated his resolve to ride the state off of all criminal elements.
