Orji lauds military for recent victories over insurgents

Obviously impressed by the recent gains recorded by the security forces fighting Boko Haram insurgents in the North- East, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, has lauded the military for its resilience and determination to rout out the terrorists.  
Orji, who made the commendation in Umuahia when he received in audience, the flag officer commanding,  Naval Training Command, Lagos, Rear Admiral Goody Anyakpele, who paid him an official visit saluted the courage of the military in confronting insurgency.
The Governor who noted that  a lot of military men had sacrificed their lives in the service of their fatherland , described as unfair the attitude of some people who have resorted to making derogatory remarks on the military instead of commendation.
He recalled how kidnapping which virtually crippled  economic and other activities in the state in 2010 was quailed by the military, saying that Nigerian military is still a force to be reckoned with.
On the 2015 polls, Orji said the government depended on the military and other security agencies for adequate security.
He pledged his continued support for the military and other security agencies in the country.
Earlier in his remarks, Rear Admiral Anyakpele who said he was on inspection visit of Naval schools under his command to assess facilities thanked the Governor for supporting security personnel in the state to discharge their duties effectively.
The Naval boss commended Orji for his numerous supports  to the Naval school of finance and logistics Owerrinta including the accommodation he provided for officers, while urging him to do more.
Anyakpele assured that the military would continue to provide the enabling environment for fair and peaceful election in the country.
