Ogunbola tasks govt on free education for children

Assemblies of God Church, Apapa District Women Ministry (WM) Coordinator, Evangelist (Mrs.) Esther Ogunbola has stressed the need for free education system for children in all states of the federation for effective development of the society.
Speaking in Lagos at the 14th annual convention of the Apapa District WM, Evangelist Ogunbola affirmed that Assemblies of God women in collaboration with women in other denominations are seriously praying for the nation, saying that “we know that God will give us victory, the governments on their own are trying, our prayers is that God will suppress the evil ones and Nigeria will stand firm as the giant of Africa.
The rationale for the convention was to renew the strength of women every year in the presence of the Lord through different topics towards serving God better.
With the Theme, “Women of Strength” the annual convention is organized to empower women spiritually.
Evangelist Ogunbola maintained that Women are the pillar of the church and if women would put themselves in the right position, a lot of things would go on well in the church. “Today women no longer much time to pray, go for evangelism and when we are effective in all these things, it is going to bring a lot of changes and we believe God for that.
On the theme of last year, she said, it was ‘Women of Substance” “if the bless us with money, we should be able to use our strength for God, he is the one that made us to be rich and that is the reason behind the theme. We must use our strength for the Lord, our husband and our children.
On the success of the 2015 convention, she said initially, “we thought things would not go on well, this year’s convention was greater than that of last year, the first day last year, we had 450 women in attendance, second day 550, the last day 700 and in the night around 850. But on the first day this year, we had 550, second day almost 700 and this afternoon we had 1,200.
“My expectation at the end of the convention is to see the women more dedicated to the course of the gospel, kingdom service, pray earnestly, she said.
While speaking on abuse for women, she advised women who had been abused to get closer to the Lord who has the power bring them to their normal self. “We have a very good example of women that were abused and God is using them greatly today because they surrendered their life to God.
To the youth, she said, for any youth to survive in this end time he or she must hold God firm, adding that there is urgent need for the youths to remember their God in the days of their youth.
