Ogun State Governor, Senator IbikunleAmosun has promised that his government would reconstruct the Sagamu- Ikenne- Odogbolu road which was abandoned during the last administration.
The Governor gave the promise in Ikenne, headquarters of Ikenne Local Government area of the state during his assessment tour of the area stressing that he will begin to extend his urban renewal programme to the place.
Amosun said that his administration has just laid foundation for development in the state adding that more dividends of democracy will be felt in the area.
“What we have come today to do is to thank all residents and indigenes of Ikenne local government for your support every time. When I was coming today, I saw the bad state of Sagamu- Ikenne road, but by the grace of God, we will soon begin work on that road. If we cannot construct six-lanes there, we should be able to do 4-lanes at least.
“When we start from Sagamu, it will pass through Chief Awolowo’s house and terminates at Sagamu-Benin Road, I will also extend my urban renewal programme to Iperu-Remo. Quite a number of road projects will be constructed and rehabilitated in Ikenne, Iperu-Remo axis.”
My government will connect all the roads in Ikenne-Iperu Rem-Ogereremo axis of the local government. We will construct all these roads in order to get investment in strategic locations around the local government area”, Amosun promised.
The Governor paid a courtesy visit to the house of the late sage, Chief ObafemiAwolowo where he met the matriarch of the family, Chief (Mrs.) H.I.D. Awolowo .
