Police have dismissed the story of kidnappings at Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State, saying there was nothing like that in the town.
It was alleged that a 35 year-old woman, food vendor and a girl were kidnapped in the town in a space of two weeks yesterday while doing business in the town.
Sources said the 35 year old woman was kidnapped with her baby strapped to her back at Afor Nnobi Market, along Awka-Etitri Road in the evening.
The food vendor, middle aged woman, was said to have been kidnapped at her residence while the girl was kidnapped in front of Seaman’s Filling station by in the evening some unidentified men in some unidentified men in black jeep
The unidentified girl was said to be selling some bananas and was invited to the jeep when someone finside the car pated her on the back as she made to give some bananas to them and instantly she was taken into the car with her ware.
It was said that her clothes and tray pan were seen the following day at Ogbo Okuko Market at Eziehulu, Nobi along the road.
Reacting over the allegation, the Commissioner of police in the state, Mr Sam Okaula said there was no kidnap incident at Nnobi.
“We don’t have any case of kidnapping at Nnobi. It is not true. I can assure you. it is false”, Sam Okaula said.
