Navy offers Medical Rhapsody to 2,500 Bayelsans

Authorities of the Central Naval Command, CNC, Nigerian Navy, Bayelsa State has offered free Medical  Rhapsody to over 2, 500 indigenes of Agudama community.
Agudama Epie and Akenfa 11 are the immediate host communities to the command in Bayelsa state and is located in Yenagoa local government Area of the state
Speaking during the flag off of the ceremony at Epie and Akenfa Communities, Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mohammed Garba, said the Free Medical Rhapsody was to promote and strengthen civil-military relations and also to boost healthcare service delivery at targetted communities.
Hear FOC, “as military, our responsibility is not only to break the will of the adversary, but also to interact and feel concern for the people, because we are part of the larger society”
He said the Headquarters Central Naval Command would continue to sustain the free Medical Rhapsody within his Area of Responsibility and has also directed units under Command to carry out the free Medical Rhapsody within their respective units.
The Flag Officer Commanding insisted that the free medical outreach is part of the carrot and stick approach in fighting criminality in the Central Naval Command Area of Responsibility.
He, however, besieged law abiding citizens to go about their legitimate businesses.
Earlier, the Paramountb ruler of Akenfa 11, Chief Odadia Osomu, who was excited at the gesture, commended the efforts of the Nigerian Navy for the free medical service.
The free Merical Rhaposdy , he said, ranged from malaria test and treatment, blood pressure checks, eye screening and treatment, diabetic screening, deworming of children, treatment of urinal dysfunction and amongst others.
Chief Osomu thanked the Navy for the kind gesture in offering free medical service to youths, elderly, physically challenged, market women and visually impaired in the respective communities.
Following the Navy’s gesture to the host communities, the people of Agudama – Epie and Akenfa 11 poured encomiums on the Nigerian Navy for her kind gesture in offering Free Medical Rhapsody to over 2,500 people in two respective communities
