One of the four timber dealers who were kidnapped along Ikakumo road in Akoko-Edo local government of Edo State over the weekend has been released alongside three others.
Samuel Obadofin, an Akunnu-Akoko timber dealer in company of three others were kidnapped and released Sunday morning after the payment of an undisclosed amount of money as ransom to the kidnappers.
The others released were said to be from Arigidi Akoko and Ikare Akoko who were doing business together.
When Obadofin arrived Akunu to join his family, he was full of joy but refused to share his experience.
However, he was grateful to God, his family and the entire Akunu community.
An indigene of Akunu-Akoko, Micheal Bello said the incessant kidnapping and robbery in the area was due to porous security network and proximity to Edo and Kogi states.
The regent of Akunu-Akoko, Princess Tola Orogun, lauded the combined efforts of police and the military for their efforts at securing early release of the kidnapped men.
Princess Orogun urged them to do more in Isowopo area particularly Ikakumo-Akunu-Auga and Ise axis that are noted for criminality.
He also urged residents to share useful and authentic information with security agencies that would lead to the arrest of the criminals in the area.
