Kaduna Airport secured for operation – Sirika

Minister of State Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has assured airline operators in Nigeria that the Kaduna airport is secured with standard facilities and in a better position to facilitate passengers’ movement.He gave this assurance recently in Abuja when he paid a courtesy visit to the Turkish Ambassador in Nigeria; Ahmed Zafer Gulsen.

The Minister said the use of Kaduna Airport will be for only six weeks starting from 8th March – 19th April to enable the country rehabilitate the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport in Abuja.

He requested the Ambassador for mutual benefit to talk with Turkish Airline operators to comply with using the Kaduna Airport for the six weeks only and if it is a cross, they should bear with the nation.

Sirika reiterated the position of the Federal Government to count on all the airline operators that would understand with the nation in this time of need.
He assured them of government‘s openness and preparedness to work with all serious minded and sincere operators.

The Minister added that the position of Nigeria in the African sub – region is highly strategic and business oriented and taking advantage of its size and geographical location guarantees adequate return on investment overtime.

The Minister welcomed the interest of the Turkish government and Turkish firms in Nigeria’s aviation industry and assured them of the federal government’s giant step to strengthen the partnership.

Earlier in his address, the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Ahmed Zafer Gulsen, pledged an unflinching and continued partnership with Nigerian Government in the development of its aviation industry.

He promised to do his best to convince Turkish Airline operators to cooperate with the Nigeria government in developing the aviation industry.
