President Goodluck Jonathan has commended the leadership and members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for supporting his administration in prayers.
He also praised the members of the apex Christian body for sustaining the unity and well-being of the country through their daily supplications to God.
President Jonathan made the commendation at the opening ceremony of the 13th National Delegate Biennial Conference of PFN which held at the Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) Headquarters, Gbagada, Lagos on Wednesday.
The president who was represented by at the event by the Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo also urged Christian leaders to pray for the emergence of leaders who would respect Christians in the country in the forthcoming election.
He showered praises on leadership and members of the PFN, saying that their steadfastness in prayer which he said has be sustaining Nigeria’s unity and urged them not to relent.
According to him, if not for their prayers, the enemies of the country would have had their way in destabilizing the nation.
President Jonathan also praised Nigerian pastors for their missionary zeal which has made them well-known around the world.
“It seems that God is using Nigerians to champion revival across the world and because of people like you who storm heaven daily and hourly, this has prevented the enemies of the nation from having their ways. Let us not forget that the weapon of our warfare is not carnal.
“Let us also pray that God will give us those who will respect the Christian faith in our nation so that we won’t be the last generation of Christians,” he said.
