IGP promotes 30,000 police men in one year – Bauchi CP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim K Idris, has promoted over 30,000 police officers and men across Nigeria in the last one year.
Bauchi State Police Commissioner,  Garba Baba, said this on Monday shortly after the opening ceremony of a one-day training seminar in commemoration of first year anniversary of IGP held at police officers mess in Bauchi.
He commended the IGP for the achievements recorded  so far saying that “about 30.000 police men have benefited from promotion under IGP leadership as well as training and re-training of our officers and men both in the county and abroad and also disclosed   that  about 100 police men benefited from the promotion in Bauchi satiate.

According to him, “base on the IGP experience, he came from United Nation, Nigeria police which is well recognize internationally. His one year in office has been a wonderful success as numerous achievements has been recorded. Some of his achievements are respect for human right, zero tolerance to corruption.”
“The IGP also established a platform known as high tune 47 which is connected to Interpol. It is the central unit all over the world that has information about criminal location, we can use this technology to track criminals such as kidnappers, armed robbers, cattle rustlers etc”.
The CP added the IGP has been able to stem down the activities of Political thugs known as sarasuka since he assumed office as well as ensure security of lives and properties.

Speaking on the forth coming Sallah celebration, the Commissioner said that the command has deployed 3.800 police to forestall break down of law and order during the celebration.
“The command has deployed operation vehicles across the state. Most of the DPO outside the state has been directed to conduct 247 patrol during the Sallah and we have also deploy our men  to places of worship to maintenance of  law and order in the state” he said.
