Ignore IPOB May 30 sit-at-home order -MASSOB

Amina Zakari: INEC putting Nigeria’s democracy under threat – Nwodo

Irked by the order from Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, that Igbo should sit-at-home on 30th May 2018, in commemoration of Biafran heroes who died during the three years Biafra/Nigeria civil war, the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB,otherwise called Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, has urged Igbos toignore the order.

Making the urge in Onitsha, Anambra state weekend, the MASSOB-BIMAnambra South zonal leader, Chief Tony Nwodo, reiterated that IPOB did not have such power to order the good people of the Southeast and
other Igbo speaking areas to sit-at-home.

“if such an order will be issued out, it will come from the founder and Leader of MASSOB-BIM and Ezeigbo Gburugburu, Chief RalphUwazuruike” Nwodo stated.According to him, “IPOB is not the mouth-piece of the Igbo nation and such and order is meant only for its members and not for the Igbo.

All IPOB is saying in the newspapers, social media and radio through its Director of Media and Publicity, Nnamdi Kanu, are lies, null and void and of no effect” he hinted further.”IPOB members are not even freedom fighters but mere frustrated group of dessidents formerly under Chief Uwazuruike’s leadership but sacked over anti MASSOB activities.

It is that violent attitude which they possesed and were displaying then that earned them sack as MASSOB members and they went and formed IPOB, led by Nnamdi Kanu”, he disclosed.”All these pro Biafra agitators have their origin in MASSOB and today they are fignting their master, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

When you fight your master or the finger that feeds you, you will expect nothing but your down fall, and that is what is happening toIPOB today” Nwodo said.”We are sorry that they (IPOB) issued that order out of frustration because they have no strong bearing and some top Igbo politicians capitalised on that to instigate them to cause trouble.

We did not say in our own declaration of Biafra day being 22nd May 2018, that the people should sit-at-home but rather we urged them to join us in the celebration of redeclaration of Biafra day at Aba, Abia
state by Chief Ralph uwazuruike 18 years ego”

Nwodo called on the people to join MASSOB-BIM in the celebration come May 22nd this month stating that MASSOB will ensure that on the 30th of this year there will be no sit-at-home as ordered by IPOB, all will be free to go on their legitimate businesses that day” he noted.
