Gov Uzodinma did not receive lorry load of almarjaris into Imo — Nlemigbo

From Victor  Duruamaku  OWERRI

Chairman of the ruling party in Imo State , the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chief Marcellenus Nlemigbo has described as false the story making the round  that Imo State Government received a truck load of almarjiris from the northern part of the country.

According to him “the state Government under the present administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma did not welcome or receive any truck load of the almarjiris from the north.”

The party boss queried “how can the state government receive the almarjiris from the northern states to the state  while other states are rejecting them”

He emphasized that the state Governor Hope Uzodinma cannot and will never welcome such people in to the state noting that the information is just being peddled to tarnish the image of the state government.

The APC Chairman who was charting with members of the Association of Mbaitoli Journalists at his country home,   at umudagu Mbieri   in   Mbaitoli   local  government Area  of the  state recalled that Governor El- rufai of Kaduna state rejected them and sent those in his state to their home state.

Visibly angry over the information, Nlemigbo further said ” how can we receive them did we send our own children to any northern state?

He however insisted that the state government would not receive such people in to the state and asked “where will the state Government quarter them”

On the fictionalisation of the party in the state he also dismissed the information that APC runs two factions in the state pointing out that the party is intact and one .

According to him the party has formed Government in the state explaining that the former Governor of the state and now senator Rochas Okorocha who masterminded one of the factions is an APC senator while Rt Hon Chile Okafor at the Green Chamber is also of APC.

He made bold to say that he was the authentic chairman of the party during the electioneering campaign while the chairman of the other faction Chief Nwafor then was the chairman of the Action Alliance ( AA) which according to him did not win the election.

Chief Nlemigbo however thanked members of the Association for coming to identity with him and used opportunity to urge media to support the state Government to move the state forward .

Earlier, the chairman of the Association Mr Chidiebere Iwuoha told party chairman that members of the Association had come to identify with him being a son of the Local Government Area. He promised that Association would work with him to project and move the party forward.
