Abia Angels captain and striker, Ojiugo Blessing Godson has predicted a goal feast against top-flights and leaders, Bayelsa Queens.
The Umuahia landladies are hosts of the Restoration Girls in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) matchday 11 clash at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The top-flight newcomers were pummelled 0-4 by the Yenagoa side in the first fixture clash decided at the Nembe City Stadium.
Godson said she is well poised to lead the attack for the goals that will sink the visitors, Bayelsa Queens.
“We expect an outright victory against Bayelsa Queens with as many as four or five unreplied goals.
“We were thoroughly beaten 0-4 in the first fixture clash in Nembe today’s (Wednesday) offers us a rare opportunity to pay them back exactly in their own coin.
“That’s not to say we expect a cheap contest from Bayelsa Queens as they have proven to be good side, too.
“I hope to lead the attack for goals at least, to secure my first goal of the on-going league season.
“Well, I’m not under pressure as captain and striker yet to score a goal in the 10-week old top-flight the key for us is to get the job done irrespective of who scores the goals.
“Today’s match is important as the outcome will go a long way to decide whether we are still candidates for the Super Four.
“As debutants first we want to secure our premiership status then if we succeed to make it to the Super Four that will be a great achievement.
“That’s why we will go all out to win today’s clash against Bayelsa Queens to inch close to the top as we have more home matches to play in the remaining games on the calendar,” said the Abia Angels markswoman to supersport.com.
The Umuahia side are sixth on the NWPL Group A log on nine points 10 behind leaders and opponents, Bayelsa Queens.
