Flood victims shared relief materials in Anambra

PHIL OKOSE, Onitsha

No fewer than 150 Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, over flood in Okpoko, Ogbaru 1 Federal constituency, Anambra State, were weekend shared with relief materials that included, rice, beans, detergent and life cow.

Sharing the materials, the President General of Okpoko Community, Hon Edwin Emesinwa, commended the State Governor, Willie Obiano, for remembering the food victims through the council Chairman, Hon Arinze Awogu.

He urged the people in the area to vote for All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, during the 2019 general election to continue to provide dividend of democracy to them.

The President General urged the Governor, former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Chinwe Nwaebili who is the candidate of APGA for Ogbaru Fderal House of Representatives and others to ensure the creation of Okpoko Local Government Area.

Speaking, Nwebili urged the Federal Government to send relief materials to the three officially recognised IDPs camps in the area and thos that were victims but not in the camps like those that benefited from the materials yesterday.

She commended the President General, Hon Emesinwa for uniting the people of Okpoko and urged him not to relent.

Earlier, the APGA Chairman in Ogbaru council Area, Nnamdi Ifejika said that the relief materials were to show concern and pleaded that the people vote for APGA to better their condition.
