Management of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), has presented a gift item to the first baby who was delivered in the hospital at about 4:40am on January 1, 2019.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Adekunle Ajayi, who made the Postnatal ward his first spot of call on Wednesday immediately after the hospital’s new year prayer session to visit the baby and his mother, congratulated the parents of the child, Mr & Mrs Onoja and others who also put to bed for safe deliveries of their babies.

Commending the nurses in the labour ward for a job well done, the CMD expressed trust and satisfaction in their experience and expertise respectively, saying the two had always aided safe deliveries in the hospital.

He described the first baby as a glorious child, who he prayed shall live to be great in life.

Head of Information and Corporate Affairs of the hospital, Mr Bank-Akinnuoye, who later presented the gift on behalf of the management to the parents of the baby, felicitated with the parents and thanked the Matrons, including Nurses, Social Workers and Health Assistants who associated with the baby during the presentation.

Mr Onoja, the father of the baby, who hailed from Okura in Kogi State and a driver at Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), lauded the gesture and wished the management a crisis free service year.
