The Nigerian equities market closed Thursday’s trading session in the red, losing 1.42per cent.The equities market closed down today due to the losses across all sectors. Similarly, market breadth index was negative with 11 gainers against 24 stocks that declined.
Japauloil +10.00per cent was the top gainer today while Cadbury -10.00per cent led the losers’ chart.FCMB +4.03 per cent were the most actively traded with 169 million units of shares worth about N261million.
NSE Industrial Index Shed 2.10per cent, on the back of the sell-offs in CCNN -9.82per cent and Dangcem -2.87per cent while the NSE Consumer Goods Index closed down by 1.13per cent due to the losses in Cadbury 10.00per cent, Dangflour -8.33per cent, Dangsugar -7.97percent, Nascon -2.70per cent and Nestle -1.45per cent.
NSE Oil & Gas Index lost 0.79per cent, following the decline in Eterna -9.92per cent, Caverton -5.24per cent, and Oando 4.72per cent.
