El-Rufai’s endorsement: ZLP disowns Kaduna Chairman… Says El-Rufai endorsement done in error

The Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, has denounced the recent endorsement of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for a second term in office by some political parties’ leadership in the state including its state Chairman, Comrade Ahmed Mohammed.

ZLP’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Segun Jones, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja said  at no time did the leadership of the party took such a stand, stressing that its Kaduna State chairman Ahmed Mohammed acted and erred in error.

He said the action of the state chairman was ridiculous, condemnable and amounted to self-seeking which oozes of anti-party activity without any clearance from the leadership of the party.

“We vehemently deny any involvement in this gross misconduct of the state chairman at a time all well-meaning Nigerians are mourning the loss of innocent Nigerians who lost their lives to a recent carnage in the state”.

“The Zenith Labour Party is built around men and women of proven characters who out of their belief in the emancipation of the downtrodden came together to provide an alternative progressive leadership to move the nation forward, it affirmed.

“The party implored their teeming members in Kaduna state to remain steadfast as the leadership of the party will soonest make a pronouncement on their candidate of choice in the state after due consultations with stakeholders in the state.

“Zenith Labour Party will not in any way align itself with any individual who had initially in a statement opined that any member of the international community that interfered in our electoral process be returned home in body bags”, he said.
