NSE: Oil price, election sentiments to determine market performance in 2019

Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Mr. Oscar Onyema has said that market sentiments in the first half of this year will be driven by uncertainty in oil prices as well as the 2019 general elections.

Volume of activities at the Nigerian stock market last week declined by 47.36 per cent.The Nigerian stock Exchange (NSE) trading report for the week showed that volume of activities went down by 1.482 billion as investors traded a turnover of 1.647 billion shares worth N8.413 billion in 14,773 deals were traded in contrast to a total of 3.129 billion shares valued at N14.348 billion that exchanged hands previous week in 10,394 deals.
