Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure described winning the Africa Cup of Nations as “unbelievable” after the Elephants beat Ghana in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Goalkeeper Boubacar Barry scored the decisive spot-kick to seal a 9-8 win on penalties after Sunday’s final had ended goalless after extra time.

* Beat Ghana 9-8

What an amazing way to finish it. They could not be separated after 90 minutes. They could not be separated after an additional 30. The regular five penalties could not separate them either and it went all the way to the goalkeepers in sudden death. Braimah had his saved by Barry, who then stepped up to score the deciding kick.

Congratulations to Ivory Coast who are now celebrating their victory over Ghana.

“Fifteen men on the dead man’s chest,  Yohoho and a bottle of Rum, Drink for the Devil had gone for the rest,
Yohoho ….”

I remember Coach Musa Abdulahi who recently joined his ancestors; I truly remember this Kogi State born football Coach, whose humility, calmness, discipline and professionalism in his career was second to none. He was one of the NFA coaches who was never controversial in any dimension!
