The All Progressive Congress, APC held its 3rd  National Convention and Presidential Primary election in Lagos last week, FEMI-OLUSOLA IKUGBAYIGBE reports on the election process and the challenges ahead
General Muhammadu Buhari finally emerged as the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate at the 3rd National Convention and Presidential Primary of the party held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Thursday.

THE Chairman, House Committee on Information, Zakari Mohammed, on Tuesday said 40 bills were awaiting President Goodluck Jonathan’s assent to become Acts of the National Assembly.
Mohammed, representing Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara, said this at a forum organised by Correspondents’ Chapel of the Oyo State Council of NUJ in Ibadan.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ajeromi /Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the 2015 elections, Barrister (Mrs) Rita Orji , has vowed to give the people effective representation  at the lower House, if elected.
Orji  who stated this during a rally in Olodi /Apapa, Lagos  at the weekend,  promised to attract more projects to the area and ensure that Ajeromi/ Ifelodun gets its fair share in terms of infrastructural development.

Innovative Elite Association of Agwa, IEAA, has congratulated the duo of Louis Nonye Obodo and William Ejiakor, for emerging standard bearers for Imo State House of Assembly, Oguta Local Government constituency for APC and PDP respectively, saying that the duo should eschew politics of bitterness, rancour and  thuggery.

The Lagos State coordinator of a political organisation, PDP Ward 2 Ward Initiative, Ayo Faseke, has called on Lagosians and the rest of the country to shun sentiments and vote for Jonathan, saying that he has done well and deservedly, should be allowed to continue his transformation agenda.
Faseke, who stated this while addressing selected journalists in Lagos, said there is a gang up against President Jonathan to ensure that his wonderful agenda for the nation never yield desired fruit, adding that well meaning Nigerians should stand against this gang up and ensure that the President is re-elected so that “we can determine the destiny of our future and our unborn generation.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chapter has inaugurated its 2015 Governorship election committees to kick-off campaign in January 5, 2015.
Speaking with Daily Champion yesterday at the party ‘s secretariat in Ogba, Lagos, the APC Lagos, Assistance Publicity Secretary, Abiodun Salami said the committees are to start work immediately.

Former Treasurer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Mr Obele Chukwuneke, has commended members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the conduct of peaceful primaries in Anambra State and for choosing him as a candidate of the party for Anaocha II House of Assembly seat.     Chukwuneke, who emerged a candidate under the Chief Ken Emeakayi-led faction of PDP for Anaocha Constituency II election in the state House of Assembly, expressed delight at his success at the primaries, promising equitable representation.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as a Janus-faced bumbling party for engaging in a serial mudslinging against the APC and its leaders, especially in the aftermath of its hugely successful national convention in which Muhammadu Buhari was elected as the APC’s presidential candidate.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said the same PDP that has been preaching issues-based electioneering campaign has done nothing but mudslinging against the person of Mr. Buhari, his running mate, Yemi Osinbajo, our leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu and indeed the entire APC.
