The Edo House of Assembly Monday adopted its business calendar of 24 days for the fourth session, and the last quarter of the fifth assembly.

The majority leader of the assembly, Hon Philip Shaibu who presented the calendar before the house at the first plenary after the general elections, said the assembly  would sit for nine days in April and 15 days in May.

A group, Opportunity is Given International (OGI), has tasked the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on job creation through harnessing the untapped natural resources in the country.

The coordinator of OGI, Comrade Chimbo Obieze, stated this in an address at a seminar on youth empowerment organized by the group in Onitsha, Anambra State yesterday.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers clothed in Mobile Police uniforms invaded the private home of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan aides located in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital and looted valuable items .

The victim, Dr. Waripamowei Dudufa, Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to President Jonathan, is a native of Kolokuma/ Opokuma local government Area in Bayelsa state.

Senate Presidency: Ndume has not withdrawn -Borno group

The Senator Representing Southern Borno at the Red Chamber of National Assembly, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has said the people of the North-east more especially people of Borno and Yobe states deserve to produce the next president of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representative.

No fewer than 60 persons were feared killed at the weekend in a bloody communal crisis between Ologba and Egba communities of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.

The latest crisis which left many with varying degrees of injury was a suspected fallout of a lingering dispute between the fishing communities over the ownership of a fishing pond in the area.
