For the second time in two days, the arraignment of the six suspects arrested in connection with the Ile-Ife communal clash could not hold on Wednesday at the Osun State High Court

The suspects, Eluwole Akeem, Jimoh Bakiru, Taiwo Fakuwayo, Daniel Olarewaju, Bamidele Elurisanmi and Oba Ademola Ademiluyi who were supposed to appear before Justice Kudirat Akano, were again returned to police custody.

The suspects were brought to court amidst heavy security, but had to be returned as they came.

Counsel for the defendants, Mr Murtala Agboola, said the arraignment was stalled due to a procedural error by the prosecution.

Mr Agboola, who expressed dissatisfaction over the development, described the situation as a delay tactic to deny them of timely justice.

In his response, the prosecuting counsel, Samuel Lough said all necessary processes had been finalized, assuring that the arraignment would be done on Thursday.
