As APM Terminals’ new Maasvlakte II facility was named the winner of the “Innovation of the Year” award at the 4th Annual Containerisation International Awards ceremony held in London recently, the shipping giant will soon commence evacuation of cargoes from Nigeria’s premiere port to Kano by rail as part of efforts aimed at facilitating cargo clearance.

The Ghanaian government has granted a British private security firm the licence to have armed guards aboard Ghana-flagged vessels.
Effective the end of June 2015, Watchwood Resources Ltd (WRL) will be able to accompany armed Ghana Marine Police aboard commercial vessels within Ghana’s Exclusive Economic Zone, providing security services.
