The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has exercise of its powers as the Designated Authority (DA) for the implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code shut the Magcobar Manufacturing Limited jetty at Reclamation Road Port Harcourt and Shoreline Logistics Limited at Old NPA Port, Marina Road Calabar.

Amid the ongoing litigation against the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) over the imposition of Cargo Tracking Note (CTN) on shippers and manufacturers at a Lagos Federal High Court, indications emerging from the office of the Chairman, Seaport Terminal Operators of Nigeria (STOAN), Princess Vicky Haastrup, shows the readiness of the group to settle out of court should NSC approach them.


Following the recent introduction of controversial Advanced Cargo Tracking Note (ACTN) by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), importers and exporters under the aegis of the Shippers Association of Lagos State (SALS) have kicked against the payment of charges and are now considering instituting legal action against the NSC at the expiration of its seven-day ultimatum to the embattled federal agency.
