The Vice President of the Senior Staff Association of Communication & Transportation Corporation, Alhaji Umar Jimoh Omeiza has called on the President and Commander in Chief, Muhammadu Buhari to immediately introduce a policy that will among other things move away oil and gas tank farms far from the vicinity of any seaport in Nigeria.

Indications have emerged that the federal government under President Muhammadu Buahri wants to quicken the delivery of the multi-billion naira Lekki Port project as government is set to pay the counterpart fund of $117 million. Former president Goodluck Jonathan was said to have down played the payment.

The Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi has said that President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a committee to overhaul the nation’s seaports with a view to finding out why the ports were not functioning effectively despite huge investment by the federal government in the sector in the recent years.
