Obafemi Hamzat took the second position with 1,201 votes.

IJAW National leader, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday, raised the alarm over the life of President Goodluck Jonathan claiming that the level of bitterness among some members of the All Progressives Congress APC could push them to either kill or poison him.Though he did not provide any forensic evidence, the elder statesman, who spoke in Abuja during a conference organised by pressure group within the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), ‘Ward2Ward Initiative’, he further opined that some utterances of members of APC in the face of the biting insecurity shows that they are not patriotic Nigerians.

FORMER Vice-President and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar yesterday declared that he has fully reconciled with his former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The former Vice President also identified waste, poor management and failure to diversify the economy by the Goodluck Jonathan administration as the major causes of the adverse economic impact arising from the fall in oil crude price.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen on Thursday stormed Bajoga and Ashaka in Gombe State raiding banks and burning government buildings as well as political party offices, residents told AFP.
Scores of gunmen dressed in military uniform arrived in Bajoga, 60 kilometres (37 miles) from Gombe city in a convoy of 20 vehicles at about 7 am (0600 GMT).
Troops managed to push out the attackers and they then drove towards the town of Ashaka five kilometres away near the border with Yobe state to the northeast.

Contrary to the belief in some quarters that the shifting of the resumption date for members of the House of Representatives from December 3rd to December 16th was due to the leadership tussle among lawmakers in the House, the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Leo Okuwe Ogor (PDP, Delta) has said that the decision was taken in the interest of all members.

Ogor in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Abuja stated that the move is purely about the impending party primaries involving majority of the members and as such has nothing to do with any individual.
