The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, has vowed to sanction officers and men of the force for unprofessional conduct, most especially now that the 2015 elections are drawing nearer.
Abba gave the warning on Wednesday in Abuja while presenting the “Inspector-General of Police Award’’ to four junior officers for their exceptional performance, with one receiving it posthumously.

A Federal High Court in Abuja Wednesday held that the National Assembly has the power to investigate the alleged N10 billion spent on the maintenance of private aircraft by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The court, however said that the procedure adopted by the House of Representatives on March 20, 2014 in probing Alison-Madueke’s alleged involvement  in the aircraft deal was faulty. It therefore, set aside the letters of invitation and summons issued on Diezani Alison-Madueke to appear before the House’s Committee.

FACTIONAL crisis rocking Ebonyi State House of Assembly turned bloody yesterday when thugs said to be loyal to one of the faction led by the Speaker, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku attacked loyalists of  Deputy Speaker, Hon. Blaise Orji inside the premises of the Assembly along Nkaliki road Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The crisis started when members loyal to Orji were locked out of the sitting of the House by the Nwazunku faction when the Assembly reconvened from its recess.
